Get your player ready for travel tryouts with high-tempo, high-repetition sessions led by professional 23Hockey coaches. This March–April training block is built to sharpen fundamentals, refine habits, and build confidence through a tryout-style pace and structure.

Mondays

5:40 PM — 8U/10U/12U: Travel Hockey Tryout Prep (Through March) + Spring Skill Development

8:00 PM — 14U/16U: Travel Tryout Prep & Skill Development

Wednesdays

5:40 PM — 10U/12U AA/AAA*: Tryout Prep (March) + Skill Development

6:50 PM — 14U/16U AA/AAA*: Tryout Prep & Skill Development

8:00 PM — 14U+: Body Contact & Shooting

*PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AA/AAA SESSIONS, YOUR PLAYER MUST HAVE BEEN ROSTERED AS AA OR AAA FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON.

Session Descriptions

Tryout Prep & Skill Development

These sessions are high repetition and high intensity to help prepare players for upcoming travel tryouts. Each skate follows a tryout-style pace and structure with professional coaching designed to refine habits and elevate performance during evaluations.

Ideal for: Players preparing for upcoming travel tryouts.

Power Skating

Strong skating is the foundation of every great hockey player. The 23Hockey Power Skating program helps players refine their stride, improve edge control, and develop explosive speed and agility. Each session combines technical instruction with high-intensity drills to build efficiency and power in every movement.

Ideal for: Players who want to improve the most important skill in hockey.

Body Contact (Checking) & Shooting (14U+)

Built for 14U and 16U players, this program teaches athletes how to safely and effectively engage in body contact. Players will learn how to initiate and absorb contact properly through angling, leverage, stick positioning, and timing.

The shooting component will be the second half of the session, focused on mechanics, deception, release, and shot selection.

  • Contact fundamentals: body posture, balance, and angling
  • Contact in open ice and along the boards
  • Giving and receiving body contact
  • Make the most of scoring opportunities by learning proper shooting habits

Ideal for: 14U and 16U players looking to increase confidence with body contact and shooting habits.
