Matt Streiff brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to 23 Hockey, with a reputation for developing players through detail-oriented instruction and high-energy sessions. A former standout defenseman at the University of Delaware, Matt helped lead his team to national tournament appearances while building the foundation for his coaching career.
Since transitioning behind the bench, Matt has been deeply involved in youth hockey development across Northern Virginia, working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs to elevate skating mechanics, edge work, and in-game awareness. His expertise lies in power skating and skill progression — breaking down complex techniques into teachable steps that help players improve stride efficiency, explosiveness, and confidence with the puck.
Matt has coached and trained players ranging from house league beginners to elite-level travel athletes, always focusing on the fundamentals that drive long-term success. Known for his ability to connect with athletes of all ages, he emphasizes discipline, perseverance, and fun in every session.
At 23Hockey, Matt leads hockey-focused power skating clinics and contributes to small-group and developmental programming, giving players the technical foundation and confidence they need to compete at higher levels.
